Usage
The RSA automatic backwash system is used for automatic, time-controlled triggering on the backwash filters of the RFS and RFSmax series. The automatic backwash system can also be retrofitted to filters already in operation in just a few simple steps.
The automatic backwash system is powered by batteries, so no additional power outlet is required.
The interval between backwashes can be freely programmed between 1 hour and 52 days.
Functionality
The cold drinking water to be filtered is fed through the inlet connection to the outside of the vertically installed filter element. The water passes through the filter fabric, while particles larger than 95-140µm are retained. The filtered drinking water flows upwards in the center of the filter element and leaves the filter housing at the outlet connection.
The RFS backwash filters must be backwashed regularly if reductions in the filter element impair the flow rate. According to DIN EN 806, Part 5, backwashing is required every 6 months to ensure correct operation of the RFS backwash filter.
The backwashing process is carried out manually. Alternatively, an automatic backwashing system, available as an accessory, can perform backwashing fully automatically at adjustable intervals.
